Imogene Asberry along with her grandchild Abby Huston was shopping Tuesday morning in Lancaster’s newest clothing store- One Door Down.
“There’s a very good selection, especially in John Deere wear for my grandchild,” she said as she was checking out. “Abby really like the boots. I have a feeling that her mommy will be back in.”
Lonnie Napier who has been in the clothing business for more than 20 years in Lancaster with Napier Brothers and ten years owning the Apparel Shop, both on the Square, was very pleased with opening day of his newest business venture.
The ribbon cutting was held Monday morning for One Door Down, located at 102 Richmond Street, next to the Garrard Central Record.
He had a lot of customersthe first day and invites everyone to come see his new store. One Door Down will be carrying clothing from infant sizes through teens with a good selection for both girls and boys. He will also have junior sizes that will fit adults.
Name brands include Carhartt, John Deere and Timberland along with others. There are also toys for children and baby gifts.
And don’t forget the rubber footwear for children with winter coming on. Napier said that he started the store for two reasons. First he saw a need for a clothing store in Lancaster for children. He had carried some items in his other stores but wanted to expand his inventory.
But he also wanted to help Lancaster and Garrard County. He believes the community is ripe for growth and for business and invites other retail business to open up.
“My family and I have been successful in the clothing business in Lancaster,” he said. “There is room for others in the retail businesses in town. “The more retail businesses that are in the town, the better it is for everybody,” he said. One Door Down is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store can be contacted at 792-6421.
