The Historic Governor William Owsley House

Steeped in history, Garrard County is home to three of Kentucky's governors, Governor Robert Letcher, Governor William Owsley, and Governor William O. Bradley.  Governor William Owsley's home, Pleasant Retreat, has been restored and is open to the public as a museum illustrating the life and times of Governor Owsley.  Among its furnishings is magnificent early nineteenth century French scenic wall paper.  In addition, delectable lunches and dinners may be scheduled for groups in the reconstructed carriage house.  The Carriage House may also be rented for private affairs.
